Because we believe A.Net in every way. It's not like they don't have any other franchise except for Guild Wars and their last game was a crappy expansion pack that broke the game even more than it already was.

Well they're working on a new game... makes sense to me.

They are "saying" they are working on a new game. Just like the creators of Duke Nukem Forever said that few times. But they had screenshots and gameplay by the end...

This is an attitude of players that ArenaNet can't do much about except get rid of the rank. I totally agree that this kind of elitist attitude ruins the game.

There is certainly no way to encourage people to getting someone with a lower title (not weaker, that's not the same thing) to the team.

I don't ever recall any people being rejected from a group for not having a high enough PvE title rank.

- What's your norn title rank?
- It's 6, very close to se...
- Lol noob go away, GLF R9-10 NORN ONLY NOOBS GTFO!!

The plan was to do public testing somewhere in 2008, like they did public testing early in the original Guild Wars. They've decided that they would do public testing in the same way most MMORPG's do; by having a test very close to release.
|
You mean like Champions Online or WAR, a year before release started closed betas? We can't really compare GW to any other MMO, since AoC's and WAR's beta showed the best the games have to offer and nothing of the endgame/better PvP. And Aion has been in Korea for... 8 months? So the beta is more like a preview or stress test of servers.

Questioning the very existence of a game because you haven't had enough info for your tastes is just being plain obtuse.
|
I don't recall any info in the last year or so.

They said they would support the game, I don't know what 'high quality support' means. Guild Wars is an old game. Is it really that surprising that you don't enjoy that much anymore? How many games do you end playing as much as Guild Wars and still enjoy it?
|
4 years is old? Neverwinter Nights was almost 6 years old when they stopped making patches, the servers are still running thanks to GameSpy and the game isn't making more money than GW. Diablo 2? I know that WoW helps a bit, but they also still support Warcraft 3 and Starcraft. Ragnarok Online? 6 years old and still there will be a huge future content pack, rebalancing the mobs and skills and adding another world to the game.
I mean, A.Net promised monthly balances and they can't even keep up this measly promise.

I assume you meant 'it's not like they have any other franchise', because... they don't.
I'd also say EotN was remarkably well received for something you say "broke the game".

3DRealms released quite a few screenshots of Duke Nukem over the years. In fact, in 2001 they released a trailer!
Clearly this demonstrates that releasing media proves your game isn't vaporware.

L4D is one year old and they are already working on a sequel. Just because one developer does something doesn't mean it's the correct course of action for everyone else.
If ArenaNet felt they were limited by Guild Wars and the constraints of the engine then it seems like a fairly straightforward decision to move on to a sequel. You didn't buy EotN, Nightfall, Factions or Prophecies based on the promise of content and updates, you bought them because you enjoy the game and wanted more. Either that, or you are a fool.

Well, isn't that the whole reason (or one of the reasons) Ursan was nerfed in the first place?
Anyway, we've gotten way off-topic, there's a whole thread about Ursan here http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10395579
I shouldn't have taken one point someone was making out of context like that, my bad.
But maybe someone can explain to me how every GW2 speculation thread becomes a "bitch about Guild Wars" thread?
